One of the largest video game developers in the United States moved one step closer to expanding its operations in Orlando and creating 50 new, high wage jobs.
Iron Galaxy, which provides support services for developers across dozens of games and systems, has plans to expand their office space in the area. Billed as the second largest privately held video game developer in North America, the company is looking to make more than a $3.75 million capital investment in the area, move into a 35,000 square-foot building, and create 50 new, high wage jobs over five years.
During the March 14 meeting of the Orlando City Council, commissioners approved an $100,000 incentive for the company through the city’s Strategic Targeted Recruitment Incentive For Valued Employment (STRIVE) program. That incentive is conditionally issued over an eight-year period ending in 2030 permitted the company reaches its stated goals.
Founded in Chicago in 2008, Iron Galaxy established its location in Orlando in 2012. Over the past 14 years, Iron Galaxy has provided support and development services for some of the most popular games in the world, including Bioshock, Destiny, Borderlands, Fortnite, Fallout 76, and Overwatch, among many others.Â
