Mary Louise Maglio Lowery

Mary Louise Maglio Lowery passed away peacefully at the age of 82 surrounded by her family on September 15, 2022. Mary was born in Memphis, Tennessee on December 14, 1939, second child of 5 to Leo and Louise who, along with her beloved sister Carolyn and brother Michael precede her in death. She is survived by brothers Joseph and Tony and many nieces and nephews.

Her adventurous soul lured her to Florida where she eventually married, moved to Orlando, and had children who would become the true epicenter of her universe until the day she died.

Art was her calling; she attended art school and ultimately started her own successful advertising business where she was a self-taught Graphic Artist. Ahead of her time, she pioneered the digital medium owning every Mac computer produced from the 80’s until her retirement.

Mary had 8 grandchildren and it was a rare occasion throughout the years that one of them wouldn’t be playing computer games or quests alongside her on one of the many computers in her home office when they came to visit, which was often and gladly. Everyone loved going to Granny’s house for a sleepover, blankets spread on a pallet across the living room floor.
Mary was a strikingly beautiful, soft-spoken woman; her laugh wasn’t boisterous, nor would her presence take up a room, but when she smiled at you… the earth would knock quietly off its axis.
A true feat in a modern world there isn’t a soul who crossed her path who would not describe her as sweet and kind and nice. Mary was KIND to her core.
She was a phenomenal dancer, she dealt a mean hand of poker, loved slot machines, buckets of raw oysters and Sushi, she enjoyed a nice glass of Chardonnay over lively conversations with dear friends, her gifts were thoughtful and fun; she was generous to a fault.

In her last years though, nothing made her happier than a bag of M&Ms, Diet Pepsi in her “cup”, card games on the computer and a game show on TV. But what made her happiest of all were the faces and voices of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Her passing has left a void in the lives that loved her which will never be filled; daughters Kimberly Vollet (Jon) and Mia Grobler (Andre) sons Michael Lowery (Stacey) and Roger Lowery (Margie) grandchildren Brooke Druliner(Aaron), Michael Magee, Maverick Layne, Olivia Vollet, Sean Lowery, Taylor Lowery, Jack Vollet, Adam Vollet, and great grandchildren Leo Druliner and Goldie Druliner.
Sweet dreams Mary.

The family will be holding a Celebration of Life Gathering on October 7th, 2022 from 6:00- 8:00 PM at DeGusipe Funeral Home, Maitland, FL and a Funeral Mass on Saturday, October 8th, 2022 at 12 PM at Saint James Catholic Cathedral, Orlando, FL.
