Bento closes downtown Orlando restaurant after second failed inspection since July

Bento Cafe was forced temporarily close its downtown Orlando location for a second time after a health inspector found multiple violations, including the presence of roaches.

Bento Cafe, which operates 25 restaurants around the state of Florida, closed its location at 121 S Orange Avenue Suite 130, in downtown Orlando on Wednesday, November 2, after an inspector with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation cited six health code violations.

Two of the violations were considered high priority, including the presence of live roaches as evidenced by seven live roaches found throughout the kitchen.

The restaurant was permitted to reopen the following day after only four remaining violations were cited.

In July, the restaurant was forced to close for a day after a health inspector cited nine violations. During that visit, the inspector found 13 live roaches around the restaurant.

Bento is currently expanding its presence in Central Florida, with its tenth location under construction at Flamingo Crossings in Winter Garden. Currently, Bento operates five restaurants in Orlando.
