Orlando International Airport reopens after Tropical Storm Nicole

The Orlando International Airport has reopened after closing down for a day due to Tropical Storm Nicole.

Airport officials say that they have thoroughly investigated potential damage in the wake of Tropical Storm Nicole and decided that the airport is ready to be reopened.

“After conferring with our airline and federal partners, the National Weather Service and emergency offices, it has been decided that Orlando International Airport will resume limited commercial operations at 8 p.m. tonight,” reads a statement issued by the airport on Thursday afternoon.

The airport says that only domestic arrivals will resume tonight, while remaining international and domestic operations will resume on Friday, November 11.

Travelers are advised to contact airlines and rental car companies for individual flights and rental car information. Vehicles left in the garage can be picked up as garages are now open and operational.
