Teenage girls vandalize foam and insulation store in Volusia, cause $350,000 in damages

Three girls between the ages of 12 and 13 are facing criminal mischief charges after they were caught vandalizing a local business that sells foam and insulation services.

According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, three girls were caught damaging and vandalizing Imperial Foam and Insulation, which is located at 2360 Old Tomoka Road in Ormond Beach.

During the incident, the girls slashed bags of raw polystyrene material and used forklifts to crash into products. The girls also smashed property and spray-painted walls in the building.

Two of the girls spray-painted their names onto foam blocks and, while they were spray-painting, were discovered by an employee who entered the warehouse and overheard them. The girls ran and were caught down the street.

The girls, who have not been identified by police, were trespassed from the property and charged with burglary of a business and criminal mischief. Both the charges were enhanced felonies due to the current state of emergency in place from Tropical Storm Nicole.
