Gail Jean Cook

My mother Gail J. Cook was born on April 20th, 1958 in Yonkers, NY the second daughter of Haldon A. Cook and Geraldine D. Cook. She died on November 16th, 2022 after a long battle with adrenal cortical carcinoma. She was a two time survivor of breast cancer.

She is survived by her 3 sisters Lori Ragalis, Pamela Ocasio, and Cindy Vandeleur, son Christopher Cook, and 2 grandchildren Ava and Camryn Cook.

“Gailie” as everyone knew her was cooking enthusiast and always taking pictures of her many delicious dishes!! If you didn’t find her cooking she would be actively selling one her many treasure finds on eBay from her gallivanting to Good Will or many tag and estate sales.

Prior to retiring, Gail worked as a Director of Infrastructure for Orange County Public Schools as she moved from VA to be closer to Ava and Camryn. She also worked for over 10 years at General Dynamics as a Senior Program Manager for the U.S. Senate in Washington, D.C. She also worked many years as a radiology technician doing mobile mammography.

Gail graduated in the top of her class from Southington High School in 1976 where she played tennis and the trumpet in the marching band. Later she completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Central Connecticut State University. Gail finished her Master’s Degree in Business Administration at UMass while working with General Dynamics.

Her grandchildren were her everything! They spent endless amount of nights at “Geemas” house doing crafts, activites, Wii, cooking, baking and more! Her motto was “What happens at Grandmas stays at Grandmas”.

She was very loved and will be incredibly missed. If you would like to pay your respects, you are welcome to attend the Celebration of Life we are holding in her honor at DeGusipe Funeral Home on Saturday 12/3/22 from 1 – 4 pm.
