A suspect has been arrested in connection with the homicide of a 39-year-old mother who was found dead two days before Thanksgiving.
Jonathan Andrew Self, 38, was arrested by Brevard County Sheriff’s Office deputies on Sunday, December 18 in connection with the murder of Michelle Ann Siegel-Colon, whose body was discovered on November 22.
During that incident, Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 700 block of West Sand Lake Boulevard in reference to a suspicious person. Upon arrival, police discovered Siegel-Colon and another unidentified individual had been shot.
Siegel-Colon was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the man was transported to the hospital.
Shortly after the incident, police released video to the public showing a man riding a bicycle away from the crime scene.
Police identified that suspect as Self and he was arrested this weekend. Self is facing a first degree murder charge and is currently incarcerated at the Brevard County Jail.
The daughter of Siegel-Colon started a GoFundMe to help pay for her mother’s cremation expenses.
