Police are looking to identify a driver that left the scene of an accident in which one of the passengers in his vehicle was killed and the other was put in critical condition.
According a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident took place around 5:21 p.m. on Monday, May 23 at the intersection of Clarcona Ocoee Road and Long Road in Orlando.
A 2010 Infiniti G37 was being driven by the unidentified individual eastbound in the outside lane of Clarcona Ocoee Road towards Long Road. A 2006 Mack Dump Truck was traveling westbound in the inside lane of Clarcona Ocoee Road toward Long Road when, for unknown reasons, the driver of the Infiniti lost control of the vehicle and traveled over the raised concrete median.
The Infiniti traveled into the westbound lanes and was struck on the right passenger side by the dump truck. The front-seat passenger in the Infiniti, a 25-year-old Mascotte man, was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The rear passenger, a 26-year-old Orlando man, was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center with critical injuries.
The driver of the dump truck received minor injuries from the crash and remained on-scene.
After the collision, the driver of the Infiniti fled the scene in an unknown vehicle. Witnesses say that the driver was a black male with dreadlocks wearing a blue shirt and acid-washed jeans. Witnesses advise that they saw the man being picked up from the scene in a white, four-door sedan, possibly an older model Nissan Sentra.
