Two people die in explosion at fireworks warehouse in south Orlando

Two people have died from their injuries after a fire caused multiple explosions at a fireworks warehouse in south Orlando on Thursday.

This afternoon, Orange County law enforcement authorities reported that 22-year-old David Gonzalez and 23-year-old Lindsey Phillips died from injuries sustained during a fire that broke out at 901 Central Florida Parkway.

Dozens of emergency units and firefighters responded to the scene at 7:10 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, after reports of heavy flames and smoke emanating from the warehouse due to an explosion.

Over 80 firefighters and 30 emergency units worked to douse the flames. Crews made multiple rescues during the incident, transporting four patients from the scene. Gonzalez and Phillips were pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. No firefighters received injuries, according to authorities.
