An Australian man visiting Orlando was killed while he was attempting to cross Universal Boulevard after he was struck by a coach bus.
The fatal accident took place near the intersection of Universal Boulevard and Jamaican Court on Tuesday, January 31, at around 10:51 p.m.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the 37-year-old man from Australia was walking westbound across the southbound lanes of Universal Boulevard.
The coach bus was traveling southbound on Universal Boulevard, just north of Jamaican Court. The bus proceeded through a green light at the intersection at the same time that the pedestrian was crossing.
As a result, the front of the front of the bus struck the man. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The bus driver and approximately 50 passengers on the bus were not injured in the crash.
