60-year-old pedestrian killed crossing Colonial Drive

A 60-year-old Orlando man was killed after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing Colonial Drive this week.

The fatal accident took place on Wednesday, March 31 at approximately 8:39 p.m., according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The man was walking southbound across State Road 50/East Colonial Drive at Sandy Lane, outside of a marked crosswalk, when he walked into the path of a Jeep Wrangler.

The front of the Jeep, which was being driven by a 45-year-old Orlando man, struck the pedestrian.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Jeep as well as his 9-year-old male passenger were uninjured in the incident.
