A 29-year-old Oviedo man whose father works at the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for possessing hundreds of images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children.
Trevor Lang was sentenced on Friday for receipt of child sex abuse materials by U.S. District Judge Wendy W. Berger. Lang pled guilty in November 2022.
According to court records, a cyber tip was reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) that resulted in a search warrant on Lang’s residence.
While federal agents executed a search warrant on the residence, they recovered several electronic devices and conducted a forensic examination.
During their examination, authorities discovered that Lang had sent, received, and viewed hundreds of images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children. At the time, Lang was on a sex offender probation from a separate case in 2012.
During that case in 2012, authorities were tipped off by Lang’s father that he had sexual images and videos of female children on a cellphone in his possession. At the time, Lang was sentenced to four years in prison and a decade of sexual offender probation.
