Gas leak prompts temporary closure of Orlando Avenue

A gas leak closed prompted the temporary closure of Orlando Avenue on Monday afternoon.

Crews from the Winter Park Fire Rescue responded to reports of a gas leak outside of the Commerce National Bank & Trust located at 1201 Orlando Avenue on Monday, April 10, at around 2 p.m.

A southbound portion of the roadway was temporarily closed as crews worked to close the leak. Responding firefighters secured a 2-inch pipeline leak before the issue was turned over to TECO gas.

No evacuations were necessary as a result of the leak and no injuries were reported.
