A local fast food restaurant was temporarily shut down last week after a series of inspections found wastewater rising through floor drains in the restrooms.
The Burger King located at 5760 Irlo Bronson Highway in Kissimmee was temporarily closed on Tuesday, May 23, after failing a health inspection conducted by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
During the visit, the inspector cited only two violations, including one considered high priority. According to the report, the high priority violation was the presence of sewage/wastewater backing up through floor drains.
The inspector noted that whenever a toilet was flushed in the bathroom, water would rise up through floor drains. The report also notes that no sewage water was observed coming up in the kitchen.
In total, the restaurant was inspected four times over the course of the day, with one other high priority violation during that period. It was permitted to reopen later that day.
