A Spirit Airlines flight was forced to return to the Orlando International Airport shortly after take-off when the airplane began descending due to an engine failure.
The incident took place on Thursday, June 8, on flight number 1351, which was traveling between MCO and La Guardia Airport in New York.
The flight, which was carrying 163 people at the time, was climbing out of Orlando and had reached 6,000 feet when the plane stopped its ascent. According to FlightAware, the airplane suffered a left engine failure that required it to return to the airport.
The aircraft turned around and landed safely on one of the airport’s runways. The passengers were transported to a separate plane and reached their destination about five hours after their scheduled arrival.
