Clermont felon facing 15 years for firing shot at neighbor

A 35-year-old convicted felon from Clermont is facing up to 15 years behind bars after police discovered that he was in possession of multiple firearms, one of which he allegedly used to shoot at a neighbor.

Brian David Casey was arrested on Friday, June 9 by Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputies on a one-count indictment charging him with possession of a firearm as a convicted felon. The federal grand jury returned the indictment on June 6, 2023.

According to court records, on March 20, 2023, Casey fired a shotgun during an argument with his neighbor. The incident was reported to police and federal agents subsequently arrested Casey for that offense. While they were arresting him, they found Casey to be in possession of a loaded revolver.
