26-year-old woman killed after rear-ending semi-truck

An Orlando woman was killed after her vehicle rear-ended a semi-truck on Boggy Creek Road.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the fatal accident took place at around 10:05 p.m. on Thursday, July 13.

The two vehicles were traveling southbound on Boggy Creek Road, in the outside lane. As the 2016 Freightliner semi-truck was approaching J. Lawson Boulevard, the vehicle began to slow down for a flashing red light.

The woman, who was driving a 2021 Mazda CX-30, failed to slow down for the semi-truck ahead of her. As a result, the front of her vehicle collided with the rear of the semi-truck.

The woman was transported to the UCF Lake Nona Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

The semi-truck driver, a 51-year-old man from Atlanta, Georgia, was transported to Dr. Phillips Hospital in Kissimmee, where he was treated for minor injuries.
