Orlando ranked best city for summer jobs

A personal finance website has ranked Orlando as the best city for summer jobs.

WalletHub released its 2023 Best Places for Summer Jobs list earlier this year, with the City Beautiful claiming the top spot.

To create the list, WalletHub compared the relative strength of more than 182 cities in the United States. The company used 21 key indicators of employment outlook, affordability, and downtime-friendliness.

The data set includes median income of part-time workers, availability of summer jobs, and commuter-friendliness of jobs, among others.

Orlando ranked third for its youth job market, and 16th for social environment and affordability. The city tied for first with four other cities, including two from Florida, for availability of summer jobs.

Multiple cities from Florida made the list, with Fort Lauderdale closest behind at #9. Other Floridian cities include Tampa (#33), St. Petersburg (#41), Miami (#52), Cape Coral (#59), Jacksonville (#97), Hialeah (#135), Pembroke Pines (#143), Port St. Lucie (#152), and Tallahassee (#163).

Orlando has received a variety of accolades this year.

In May, Rent.com ranked Orlando as the best city in which to work remotely.

Earlier this year, Wallethub ranked Orlando as the best large city in the country in which to start a business.

Additionally, multiple Orlando restaurants were honored with recognition by the MICHELIN Guide.
