A seafood counter in Sanford was forced to temporarily close its location for one day after a health inspector cited multiple code violations, including roach activity.
The Current Seafood Counter located at 212 W 1st Street, Suite 1030 in Sanford, was forced to close its doors on Tuesday, August 1 after a health inspector with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation cited at least 10 code violations.
The inspection report indicates that during the inspector’s visit, at least 15 live roaches were found next to a reach-in cooler and under a three-compartment sink.
Additionally, some of the ingredients being used were not being kept at the appropriate temperature. Those ingredients included cabbage, tomatoes, and garlic.
The restaurant was reinspected on Wednesday, August 2, and was permitted to reopen after only one violation was found.
