Suspect who shot at Orlando police still on the loose

Orlando police are trying to locate a suspect who robbed a victim at gunpoint before firing shots at officers who were attempting to apprehend him.

At around 11:10 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26, Orlando Police Department Central Patrol Units were flagged down by a citizen in the area of Carter Street and Parramore Avenue.

The victim told police that they had been robbed by an unknown male with a firearm and provided a description of the suspect.

A short time thereafter, officers located a suspect matching the description near Conley Street and Short Avenue.

According to OPD, the suspect allegedly shot multiple rounds at officers before they returned fire. The suspect then allegedly dropped his handgun on the road and fled the scene.

“We are still attempting to locate the suspect after an extensive search,” reads a statement from OPD.

Police say the suspect is a black male, standing approximately 6-feet tall, with a slender, athletic build. The man was wearing blue jeans, a gray shirt, and a dark hat at the time of the incident.
