Twice as many 3-hour train rides between Orlando and Miami as company doubles trips

After a successful start to the first high-speed rail between Orlando and Miami, the company behind the project has now doubled its number of daily trips.

On Monday, Brightline officially began offering 15 daily departures each way between Orlando and Miami, expanding a high-speed rail the company began on September 22 after months of anticipation.

According to the new schedule, the first train will take off from the Orlando International Airport at 4:38 a.m. and arrive in Miami at 8:11 a.m. After the first train, departures are scheduled hourly, with the last train scheduled to depart Orlando at 8:54 p.m. and arrive in Miami at 12:32 a.m.

The first train departing Miami will now leave at 6:41 a.m. on weekdays and 5:41 a.m. on weekends. Departures then take place hourly, with the last train scheduled to depart Miami at 9:41 p.m.

Tickets for the new service start at $79 per passenger, each way, while tickets for children start at $39 per passenger, each way. The company offers additional package discounts for frequent travelers, families, and groups of four or more passengers.

Originally scheduled to kick off on Labor Day weekend, Brightline delayed its September 1 launch date while it worked through “final stages of certification and crew testing.”

In June, the company completed construction of the 170-mile railway, which stops at all of Brightline’s stations across the east coast of Florida.

In April, the company celebrated the opening of its terminal at Orlando International Airport, and in May, it announced that all of its customers would have access to free, high-speed WiFi through Starlink.
