Pedestrian killed in second fatal hit-and-run on same roadway in last week

A 53-year-old pedestrian was killed while crossing Irlo Bronson Memorial Boulevard, marking the second fatal hit-and-run on the roadway in the past week.

The fatal accident took place at around 7:42 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking north and entered the westbound lanes of W Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway.

The report indicates that the pedestrian was not in a marked crosswalk at the time.

As a result, the man entered the direct path of a vehicle that was traveling westbound on W Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, just east of Old Vineland Road.

The pedestrian was fatally struck by the vehicle, which fled the scene after the accident.

The pedestrian, who was from Kissimmee, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

There were no reported witnesses at the scene, according to FHP.

Anyone with information about this crash is asked to call the Florida Highway Patrol at 407-737-2213, or the Central Florida Crimeline at 800-423-8477.

On October 30, another pedestrian was killed while crossing the same roadway in a similar incident. Law enforcement authorities are still trying to identify and locate a man and his vehicle who are wanted in connection with that fatal hit-and-run.
