Driver crashes into gun store in attempted suicide

A driver who was allegedly trying to commit suicide crashed into a gun store in downtown St. Cloud on Thursday morning.

Crews from the St. Cloud Police Department and St. Cloud Fire Rescue responded to The Gun Store at 1116 New York Avenue in St. Cloud after receiving reports regarding a vehicle crashing into a structure at around 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 9.

Upon arrival, crews found that a vehicle had been intentionally crashed into the store.

According to authorities, the driver crashed into the building in an “apparent suicide.”

As of Thursday afternoon, the roadway was still closed between 10th and 11th Street as crews worked to clear the area.

No information was provided regarding the condition of the driver.
