Amazon vehicle boarded by man who put ‘sharp object’ against driver’s back

Local police are trying to identify an individual who allegedly boarded an Amazon vehicle and held a “sharp object” to the driver’s back while demanding a ride.

The incident occurred in the area of 25th Street and Chase Avenue on November 1, according to the Sanford Police Department.

An Amazon driver who was delivering packages says another man jumped on the “driver sidestep” of the vehicle while it was moving. The man allegedly told the driver to “take him to an unknown location,” according to police.

After the driver refused, the man allegedly placed a “sharp object against the driver’s back,” according to police.

As the driver slowed the vehicle and stopped at a stop sign, the man jumped off the driver’s sidestep in an attempt to run to the passenger’s side. The driver was able to drive away before the man was able to enter the vehicle.

Anyone with information about this man’s identity is asked to contact the Sanford Police Department at 407-688-5070.
