Man killed semi-truck makes u-turn in front of his vehicle

A 28-year-old man from St. Cloud was killed after he crashed into a semi-truck that was attempting to make a u-turn, causing his vehicle to slide underneath the truck.

The fatal accident took place near the intersection of U.S. Hwy 192 and Bradley Drive, on Tuesday morning at around 4:41 a.m.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 37-year-old woman was driving a 2019 Freightliner semi-truck with an attached trailer eastbound on U.S. Hwy 192, just west of Bradly Drive.

The woman attempted to make a u-turn to travel west on U.S. Hwy 192 and, as a result, blocked both westbound lanes of the highway and positioned the vehicle directly in the path of a 2022 Honda Accord.

That vehicle, which was being driven by a 28-year-old man from St. Cloud, was unable to avoid a collision and crashed into the side of the semi-truck. As a result of the collision, the Accord traveled underneath the semi-truck and became stuck.

The man was pronounced deceased at the scene. The woman was not injured in the crash.
