A 48-year-old man was killed on Saturday morning after his vehicle left the Florida Turnpike and crashed into trees off the roadway.
The fatal accident took place at around 11:03 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The man, who was from Orlando, was driving a 2022 Lexus RX350 southbound on the turnpike, approaching mile marker 247 in the outside lane.
For unknown reasons, the driver ran off the right side of the roadway and onto the right shoulder. As a result, the right side of the vehicle collided with the tree line.
The driver was transported to AdventHealth Kissimmee, where he was pronounced deceased.
