A smoke detector likely saved a homeowner’s life after alerting to a fire that was raging through a home in Casselberry last week.
Seminole County Fire Department crews responded to reports of a residential fire along Fox Hollow Court in Casselberry at around 11 p.m. on Friday, January 5.
According to a statement from SCFD, neighbors reported an active fire with flames and smoke that were visible from the back of the home. Upon arrival, crews found that the fire was 40 to 50% involved.
The homeowner told authorities that a smoke detector alerted them to the fire. There were no injuries reported after the fire.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
