Jimmie F. Whitehurst

Jimmie Frank Whitehurst, 77, of Winter Garden, FL passed away peacefully, with his loving family by his side on Sunday January 7, 2024, at Orlando Health Central in Ocoee, FL.

Jimmie was born on August 6, 1946, in Enterprise, AL. He was a licensed general contractor and worked in this industry until he retired. He spent his adult life in the Orlando area where he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was very protective and proud of his two daughters who loved him dearly.

Jimmie’s favorite sports teams were the Gators and the Miami Dolphins. He liked telling jokes and making people laugh. He also had a passion for baking and enjoyed sharing good recipes. We all loved his pound cake!

Everyone who knew him knew he had a love for cars, especially Lamborghinis. His all-time favorite car was his Pontiac Trans Am with a “silver” eagle on the hood and a T-top roof, which he special ordered and then flew to Detroit to pick up. He drove straight back to Orlando, picked up his daughters and took them for a ride.

A loyal patriot, Jimmie served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the late 1960’s. He loved this country and made sure we all knew it. He collected many artifacts and historical newspapers of important events in American history. His favorite TV channels were GRIT, which aired old westerns 24/7 and The History Channel.

Besides his younger sister Glenda S Futch and husband (James), Jimmie is survived by his two daughters, Shawn M Hall and Denise R Coffey and husband (Duane), his grandchildren Tommy L Maroney, Lindsey R Coffey and husband (Andrei Lehman), Harrison D Coffey, Kayla M Hall, and Krista S Hall and his great grandchildren Finn Lehman, Josiah (Joey) Maroney and Dahlia Maroney. Preceded by his parents Grady H and Mattie B (Rushing) Whitehurst.

Our hearts ache as we continue this earthly journey without him. However, we are comforted knowing we will be reunited once again.
