Seminole County Sheriff’s Office hiring detention deputies

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office will host a hiring event to meet and greet those interested in becoming detention deputies.

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office hiring event will be on Saturday, February 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility, which is located at 211 Eslinger Way in Sanford.

The organization says it is looking to provide opportunities for passionate and dedicated individuals to make a positive impact on the lives of those within the criminal justice system.

The hiring event will offer an expedited application process where visitors will have the chance to meet directly with recruiters.

Event organizers say qualified applicants may receive a conditional offer on the spot.

Incentives include hiring bonuses for experienced detention deputies, paid training, paid time off and holidays, an educational assistance program, and retirement plans.

The hourly base salary for this position while in the corrections academy is $20.00 an hour. After completion of the corrections academy, you will receive the starting detention deputy salary of $52,009.36.
