Orlando police say they have caught dozens of drivers speeding at speeds in excess of 100 mph over the past several weeks, including one motorist clocked at 133 mph.
On Friday, the Orlando Police Department reported speeding statistics from January 21 to February 16.
According to OPD, over that time period, officers made contact with 265 drivers and issued 109 speeding citations and an additional 89 speed warnings.
During their encounters, at least 66 drivers were recorded traveling at speeds greater than 90 mph, and 23 drivers were recorded traveling at speeds greater than 100 mph.
That includes one driver who officers recently clocked at 133 mph while driving along Interstate 4.
“The Orlando Police Department is cracking down on speeders like this with the help of extra funding from the Florida Department of Transportation. Speed enforcement will be increased on all state roads in the City of Orlando. Please drive responsibly,” reads a statement from OPD.
