Dogs saved by neighbors after two Casselberry homes catch fire

Seminole County firefighters rushed to a Casselberry neighborhood on Tuesday afternoon after a fire ignited between two homes.

Multiple Seminole County Fire Department units responded to the area of Shady Hollow and observed flames between two residences. In addition, a downed power line was also spotted near the fire.

According to SCFD, around 50% of one home was damaged by the fire, and 25% of the second home was engulfed in flames near the garage area.

Firefighters began aggressively attacking the flames, and the fire was eventually extinguished.

Two neighbors were able to save two dogs from the fire. They were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, though they both refused to be transported to a hospital.

Duke Energy arrived on scene, and the American Red Cross of Central Florida was also contacted to assist the affected homeowners.

The cause of the fire is currently undetermined and under investigation, according to the Seminole County Fire Department.
