Marisa Mootiram

It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Marisa “Cookie” Mootiram at the age of 33. Marisa was a beautiful soul, with an infectious laugh that brought joy and warmth to everyone that she encountered. Marisa a beloved mother, daughter, partner, sister, and friend, left this world far too soon, leaving behind a void that cannot be filled.

Marisa was born on July 30, 1990 in Queens, New York to Bobby and Maria Mootiram. The family relocated to Lake Mary, Florida in 1998 where she graduated from Lake Mary High School. Marisa and her husband Michael Brown have spent almost 15 wonderful years together and have two beautiful children, Mason (7) and Malia (2), whom she cherished more than anything in the world. She was an amazing mother, nurturing and showering her children with unconditional love.

In her professional life, Marisa developed a fulfilling career over the last eight years at Hilton Grand Vacations, where she was recently promoted to a manager. Her colleagues admired her work ethic and ability to bring people together. Marisa also enjoyed traveling and cherished moments spent with her family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

Marisa’s passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by her mother, Maria; her husband, Michael; her children, Mason and Malia; her sister, Marsha; her grandparents, aunts, uncles and a wide circle of relatives and friends who loved her dearly.

Though Marisa’s time with us was tragically brief, we take solace that she will be reunited with her dad in heaven and her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched during her time on Earth. May her memory be a blessing and may she rest in eternal peace.

A celebration of Marisa’s life will be held on April 13, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Nativity Catholic Church with her internment to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
