A 39-year-old Kissimmee man was killed early Sunday morning after his motorcycle struck an SUV on Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando.
The fatal crash occurred on Orange Blossom Trail, near the intersection of Cypress Crossing Drive, at around 3:05 a.m. on Sunday, April 21.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2014 Kia Soul was traveling eastbound on a private driveway, approaching OBT. At the same time, a 2006 Honda GL1800 motorcycle was heading southbound on OBT in the inside lane.
The report stated that the driver of the SUV, a 38-year-old Orlando woman, began turning right onto OBT when her vehicle entered the direct path of the motorcycle. Moments later, the front of the motorcycle struck the rear left section of the SUV.
The motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The report stated that he was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The driver and sole occupant of the SUV was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
An FHP trooper noted in the report that the crash remains under investigation.
