Orlando man killed after ATV crashes into mailbox, fire hydrant, and parked car

A 48-year-old Orlando man was killed after his all-terrain vehicle crashed into a mailbox, fire hydrant, and parked car in Orange County on Sunday afternoon.

The fatal crash took place near the intersection of Bryson Drive and Harwick Drive on Sunday, April 21, at around 3:05 p.m.

A Florida Highway Patrol trooper noted in the accident report that the ATV was traveling northbound on Bryson Drive, just north of the Harwick Drive intersection, when the rider lost control of the vehicle.

The ATV veered off the roadway to the left before striking a mailbox and fire hydrant. Shortly after those collisions, the ATV proceeded to strike the rear of an unoccupied 2020 Kia Forte that was parked in the front yard of a private residence, according to the report.

The rider was thrown off the ATV. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The accident caused a temporary roadblock in the area on Sunday.

The crash remains under investigation, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
