Orange County Libraries celebrating 100-year anniversary with event

The Orange County Public Library System will celebrate its 100-year anniversary with a large-scale event this weekend.

On Saturday, January 7, the Orlando Public Library (101 E Central Boulevard) will host a 100 Year Celebration Kickoff Event for children and adults of all ages.

The event will kick off with a ceremony at 10:30 a.m., followed by a family storytime for all ages and a storytime craft for children ages 3 to 5.

The Z Street Speakeasy Band will perform music from the roaring 20’s and at 1 p.m., The Bandbox will provide non-alcoholic craft cocktails to visitors.

Multiple other events are scheduled throughout the day, including an Improv Show and a photo scanning activity to preserve the memory of the library through visitor photos and videos.
