Nonprofit that creates urban agriculture spaces, hosting plant sale in Orlando

A nonprofit organization that creates urban agriculture spaces that transform neighborhood lawns into micro-farms in Orlando is hosting a plant sale this weekend.

Fleet Farming will host a plant sale on Saturday, January 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its headquarters, which are located at 1030 W Kaley Avenue in Orlando.

Founded in 2014, Fleet Farming is an initiative that creates a localized food system in residential neighborhoods across Orlando, serving as a model to others on how to grow food. These sustainable food systems foster the growth of plants and vegetables that will be available for purchase at the group’s sale.

Those plants include aloe, wild mint, bok choy, kale, tomatoes, parsley, strawberries, and a variety of other fruits, vegetables, and herbs.

For more information on the organization, its mission, or to get involved, visit the Fleet Farming website.
