Moghul Indian Cuisine shut down multiple times for rodent, roach activity

A Winter Park restaurant specializing in Indian Cuisine was forced to close its doors twice over the past week after a health inspector cited multiple, repeated violations, including the presence of rodent activity.

According to a report from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Moghul Indian Cuisine, which is located at 401 N Semoran Boulevard, was closed on Friday, April 29 after a health inspector cited nearly a dozen and a half violations.

Among the six high priority violations was rodent activity, with over 200 rodent droppings found around the kitchen, according to the inspector’s report. In addition to rodent activity, small, flying insects were present throughout the kitchen as well.

Upon a follow-up inspection on Saturday, April 30, the restaurant was permitted to open, with another follow-up inspection planned.

On Tuesday, May 3, a third inspection was conducted and the facility was closed again after the health inspector found 16 remaining health violations, including dozens of rodent droppings and roach activity.

The restaurant was reinspected again on Wednesday, May 4, and was permitted to reopen, despite six violations remaining. Among the remaining violations is that the business has been operating with an expired Division of Hotels and Restaurants License.
