A man trying to cross Sand Lake Road was struck and killed by a car being driven by a 16-year-old driver over the weekend.
The fatal accident took place on Sunday, January 22, at around 8:16 p.m., according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The pedestrian was walking southbound before he entered the eastbound lanes of State Road 482/Sand Lake Road, in the direct path of a 2013 Hyundai Elantra being driven by a 16-year-old Orlando male.
Authorities say the pedestrian was not in a marked crosswalk.
The pedestrian was struck by the front of the Elantra and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver and his passenger, a 17-year-old Orlando male, were both uninjured in the crash.
The pedestrian has not yet been identified by authorities.
