Mohamed Ayube Osman

Mohamed Ayube Osman, 92, passed peacefully on January 29, 2023, in Clermont, Florida at Clermont Health & Rehab.

Ayube was born on January 21, 1931 in Georgetown, Guyana. He and his wife, Patricia migrated to the United States more than three decades ago. Sadly, Patricia passed on April 29, 2020 at the age of 89.

Ayube held various positions in the Ministry of Finance, Guyana. He later joined the Caribbean Community and Common Market (CARICOM) in 1973 and served as Director of Personnel Management until his retirement in 1990. He was an ardent reader of novels, wrote short stories for publication and loved to listen and sing old English classic songs. Ayube’s main hobby was woodworking, designing and building home furniture for his family and friends.

Ayube is survived by his daughter, Roxanne Misir (husband, Prakash) and son, Gary Osman (wife Margaret); grandchildren Zaheer Osman (wife, Amanda), Soraya Singh (husband, Gibran), and Priya Misir; and great grandchildren Khaled Singh, Javid Singh and Naseem Osman. He is also survived by his sister, Sandra Bourne (husband, Philip) and brothers: Deryck Hill (wife, Ferida), Meerza Osman and Jamiel Osman and their families, Zohra Hack, Yvonne Osman, Desiree Osman and many nieces and nephews.

Ayube was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank Osman and Rashid Osman and sister, Nazmoon Williams.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 with a visitation from 10 am- till 12:00 pm with a Catholic prayer service being held at 12:00 pm at Winter Oak Funeral Home, 1132 E. Plant Street, Winter Garden, Fl. 34787.

After the cremation, his ashes will be placed in the family’s Niche with his beloved wife, Patricia, at Winter Garden Cemetery, 13636 Lake Butler Blvd, Winter Garden Fl. 34787.
