Vehicle wanted in fatal hit-and-run that killed 31-year-old pedestrian in Altamonte Springs

The Altamonte Springs Police Department is seeking assistance to find a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that claimed the life of a 31-year-old man.

The fatal accident took place on September 26 at 1:45 a.m., near the intersection of East Altamonte Drive and Anchor Road, according to ASPD.

Authorities believe that James Murat Fowler III was walking across State Road 436 when he was struck by a white vehicle traveling eastbound.

Fowler was found on the sidewalk suffering from severe injuries. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Police believe the crash occurred between 12 a.m. and 1:45 a.m., although the exact time of the crash is unknown.

Investigators described the vehicle responsible for the accident as a white, 2016 to 2020 Kia Optima. The vehicle might have damage to the passenger side mirror and the front, passenger side headlight.
