Volusia man arrested on 23 counts of child porn

A 60-year-old Volusia County man was arrested this week after police found dozens of files depicting child pornography of girls as young as four years old.

Raymond L. Brown was arrested on Tuesday, March 14, on a warrant charging him with 23 counts of possessing sexual performance by a child.

The arrest follows a tip that was sent by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

That tip led detectives to obtain and execute a search warrant at Brown’s home at 1701 Valencia Avenue in Ormond Beach.

During their investigation, detectives seized cell phones, laptops, and a camera for forensic examination. While searching the electronic devices, police located multiple color photos of sexual exploitation of girls estimated to range in age from 4 to 12 years old. Police say that Brown uploaded many of the files containing the pornography, but are unsure as to whether or not he produced the files.

Due to the nature of the materials found, VCSO is asking anyone who may have information about this case to contact the sheriff’s office Child Exploitation Unit at 386-323-3574.

Brown is currently incarcerated at the Volusia County Jail on $460,000 bond. He is scheduled for arraignment on April 4, according to court records.
