Richard Jerry Tickal

On March 13, 2023, Richard Tickal passed away in Winter Park, Florida at the age of 90. Dick was born in 1932 in Cedar Rapids Iowa to Gerald and Josephine Tickal where he lived until moving to Florida in the 1970s with his family.

He served as a sergeant in the United States Air Force in the 1950’s. Dick had many interests throughout his life. As a General contractor and owner of his own company, he held the title for the oldest licensed contractor in Florida. While running his company he pursued other interests including antique dealer, art, dollmaking, master builder and mentoring others with business start ups. He was a collector of many treasures – coins, gems, beanie babies, antique dolls, stamps, Hummel figurines, and antiques – but his greatest treasure was his family.

Dick is survived by his wife, Helen; children, Debbie (John), Garry (Clara), Cindy (Don), Jeff (Lauri), Jenni (Bill) and Krissie; Chris (Sharon) and Eric; 21 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Geraldine; and first wife, Maureen.

Visitation to be held at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home in Altamonte Springs, Florida on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at 10 a.m. and a service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Reception to follow at Bill and Jenni’s home.
