Walter Borowski, 75, of Ocoee, Florida passed away on March 20, 2023 after a 10-month battle against brain cancer. Dave was born on Dec. 1, 1947 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Walter Frank Borowski and Flora Borowski (Quillen). He graduated from Mount DeSales High School in Macon, Ga in 1966 and went on to study Physics and Engineering at Florida Institute of Technology (FIT), now Florida Tech, in Melbourne, Florida. He eventually earned both a bachelors and masters degree from that institution.
After graduating with his bachelors degree, Dave worked as a senior engineer at Martin Marietta, which eventually became Lockheed Martin. He retired from there at age 69, having worked there for 47 years. He loved science and working in a lab. During his many years at Lockheed Martin he had many patents in his name, as well as recognition for scientific accomplishments.
While at FIT, he meet Margaret Sharp at a Valentines Day Dance, they would later marry in 1970. They were married for 52 years. They had two children, daughter Ann and a son, Paul.
Dave was a devout Roman Catholic and attended St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Orlando, St. Andrew Catholic Church, Orlando and Resurrection Catholic Church, Winter Garden throughout his adult working life in Central Florida. He always made sure his family needs were being met, regardless of the many health challenges he faced. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and traveling the world with family. Before his illness, he travelled in recent years to Scotland, France, Italy and the Grand Canyon.
Dave is survived by his wife, Margaret Borowski (Sharp), sister Kay Sanders (Borowski), daughter Ann Borowski-Slade, son-in-law, Christian Slade, son, Paul Borowski, and twin grandchildren Katherine and Nathaniel Slade, both 15.
