Frances Mae Bishop Johnson

Frances Mae Bishop Johnson, age 98, passed away on Saturday, March 18th in Ocoee, Florida. She was predeceased by her parents Eva Parke Nunnally Bishop and James Frederick Bishop, her sister Ila Godwin and brother James Bishop, as well as her high school sweetheart and husband John Dolphus
Johnson Jr. and their eldest daughter Eva and son in law Rene Garcia. Frances leaves behind her two daughters Elizabeth Bishop Johnson and Christina Marie Johnson Linck, 2 granddaughters Amy Jessee and Jamie Andersen, as well as her 4 great grandchildren Landon, Reese, Kellan, and Lochlan who were the true apples of her eye.

Frances was born in Rocky Mount, NC on January 26, 1925. As part of the “Greatest Generation”, she lived through the depression and witnessed many historical events throughout her life. At the age of 18 she left her family, boarded a train headed to Shreveport, Louisiana to meet her sweetheart to get married. She supported her husband, a bomber pilot in World War II, through his 65 successfully flown missions. Frances and JD raised 3 incredible daughters and were married for 60 years. In 2019 Frances became a resident
of Madison at Ocoee, an assisted living facility. The residents and staff quickly became part of her extended family.

Frances Mae Bishop Johnson will be remembered as a true Southern Belle. Her faith, manners, attitude, appearance, and family values will hold dear in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of meeting her. Now she lives with Jesus.

She will be laid to rest at Glenhaven Memorial in Winter Park.
The family will hold a “Celebration of Life” at New Covenant Assembly in Casselberry, FL on April 7th at 12:00 pm EST.
