Two Orlando women killed in separate fatal accidents

Two Orlando women were killed in separate fatal accidents over the weekend.

Both accidents took place within hours of each other on Friday and Saturday, May 13 and 14. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the first crash was a single-vehicle accident that took place near the intersection of Chuluota Road and Cypress Lake Glen Boulevard.

A 73-year-old woman was driving a 2019 Ford Ranger southbound on Chuluouta Road, south of Cypress Lake Glen Boulevard when for unknown reasons, she veered off the roadway to the left and crossed into the northbound travel lane.

The woman’s truck traveled off the roadway and collided with a tree on the northbound right shoulder of County Road 419.

The woman was transported to Waterford Lakes ER Hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

During the second incident on Saturday morning, a 32-year-old Orlando woman was driving northbound on Interstate 95 near mile marker 189 when for unknown reasons, her vehicle left the roadway and struck the guardrail, causing the vehicle to begin to overturn.

The woman’s 2014 Nissan Altima was disabled in the inside northbound lane of the highway when a 46-year-old Port St. Lucie man who was traveling southbound on I-95 stopped, crossed the highway, and attempted to pull the woman out of her vehicle.

While the man was helping the woman, a 2016 Honda Civic being driven by a 34-year-old Rockledge man was traveling northbound on I-95 on the inside lane and collided with the Altima, ejecting the woman from the vehicle. Debris from the crash struck the Port St. Lucie man, according to the report.

All three people involved in the accident were transported to Viera Hospital. The woman was pronounced deceased, while both men sustained minor injuries.

Both crashes remain under investigation, according to authorities.
