Chuan Lu Garden closed for second time this year after multiple failed health inspections

Chuan Lu Garden was forced to close for a second time this year after a health inspector found two dozen health code violations over the course of two different failed inspections.

According to a report from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, the restaurant, which is located at 1101 E Colonial Drive, was closed on Wednesday, May 11 after a health inspector cited 14 health code violations.

Among the violations were four considered high priority, including the presence of rodents. The health inspector’s report indicates that over 60 rodent droppings were found around the restaurant, which was a repeat violation from a previous failed inspection.

During that inspection on Tuesday, February 25, the inspector found approximately 68 rodent droppings around the kitchen and storage areas in the restaurant.

On Thursday, May 12, the business was revisited by the inspector for a follow-up inspection. During that inspection, more rat droppings were found and raw animal foods were being improperly stored.

The restaurant was reinspected again on Thursday and permitted to reopen after only five violations remained.
