James A Smaldone

James A. Smaldome, age 63, of Longwood, FL, passed away on April 27, 2022. Jim was born on December 6, 1958 in Providence, RI to parents John and Dorothea Smaldone. Jim was the youngest to siblings Cheryl D’Antonio and Johnny Smaldone.

Jim worked as a Real Estate Broker for over 40 years. He served as the President of the Greater Providence Board of Realtors and owned and operated 12 RE/MAX franchises across Rhode Island and Massachusetts through the early 90’s prior to moving to Central Florida where he continued his career. In Central Florida, he spent 7 years on the Board of Directors for The Orlando Regional Realtor Association. He was also on the Board of Directors of the Florida Association of Realtors. As of late, Jim specialized in residential rehabilitations with his colleagues who were some of his closest friends.

He frequented Enzo’s, Papa Joes, and Cafe Paisano. He was a member of the Rotary Club and an active part of the Italian Club. He enjoyed his cigars and red wine, and put minced garlic on everything. He loved his pets Sammy and Sparky, could be seen (and heard) riding his Harley Davidson, and had a different car every few months.

Jim was survived by his partner in life Ann Miller-Deal, his daughter Amanda Smaldone-Leimgruber and son Ryan Smaldone, their spouses P.J. Leimgruber and Lexis Smaldone. Grandchildren Emelia Joy Leimgruber and Damien James Leimgruber and siblings Cheryl and Joe D’Antonio and Johnny Smaldone. Other important people in his life include Lindsey and Christopher Smaldone, their daughter Lily, Paul and Ashley Emery, plus numerous friends, family, business associates and other wise-guys.
