Drug Take Back event across Central Florida

Multiple law enforcement agencies will participate in this year’s Drug Take Back Day hosted by the United States Drug Enforcement Agency.

The event will take place on Saturday, April 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at a multitude of local police agencies, including ones in Seminole, Orange, Osceola, and Volusia counties. The event will provide an opportunity for the public to surrender expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications to law enforcement officers for destruction.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office will accept submissions at its Central Operations Center (2500 W Colonial Drive), and substations at 1111 N Rock Springs Road in Apopka, 11000 Lake Underhill Road in Orlando, 475 W. Story Road in Ocoee, and 2400 W. 33rd Street in Orlando.

The Altamonte Springs Police Department will host its event at 451 E Altamonte Drive in Altamonte Springs. On Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the department will also offer safe disposal at its COPS Center, located inside the Altamonte Mall’s lower level, between JCPenney’s and Macy’s.
