MICHELIN recognizes four Orlando area restaurants for ‘good food, good value’

The MICHELIN Guide has recognized four restaurants in the Orlando area as Bib Gourmands, which recognizes establishments that serve “good food for good value.”

On Thursday, May 4, eight Florida restaurants were named as Bib Gourmands, joining seven others that made the list last year.

The list includes Isan Zaap, a Thai restaurant located at 4693 Gardens Park Boulevard in Orlando. The restaurant focuses “exclusively on northeast Thai cuisine with Laotian overlaps,” according to MICHELIN. The guide highlights the restaurant’s “impressive level of attention to detail” and “balance of spice and fermented flavors.” For more information on the restaurant or its menu, visit the Isan Zaap website.

Located at the Plant Street Market in Winter Garden, the next entry on the list is Norigami (426 W Plant Street). The restaurant features only eight seats and offers sushi done in a “casual, choose your own adventure” style, as guests pick from various cuts of fish and shellfish, before selecting either nigiri, sashimi aburi, or temaki. “Good products and solid techniques are on display in the hand rolls, where fillings like shredded blue crab make an impression,” says the guide. For more information on the restaurant or its menu, visit the Norigami Instagram page.

Otto’s High Dive, which officially opened its doors this past December, was recognized for its “Old Florida” charm with “whitewashed brick walls and white tile floors.” The neighborhood rum bar features “Cuba Libre on tap” and an “array of cold and hot plates ranging from shrimp cocktail to chicken mojo and ropa vieja.” Otto’s High Dive is located at 2304 E Robinson Street, in Orlando’s Milk District. For more information on the restaurant or its menu, visit the Otto’s High Dive website.

The fourth and final restaurant to make the list is a long-standing favorite with multiple locations. Taste of Chengdu, which manages restaurants in Baldwin Park (4856 New Broad Street) and along West Colonial Drive (2030 W Colonial Drive), features traditional, Sichuan cuisine with a modern twist. General Tso’s chicken, Kung Pao chicken, and Beijing pork are just a few of the dishes available at the restaurant. For more information on the restaurant or its menu, visit the Taste of Chengdu website.

On Thursday, May 11, MICHELIN will release its full list of restaurants that have received stars. Last year, MICHELIN awarded stars to its first set of restaurants in Florida, including four located in and around Orlando.
