Donald Louis Van Hoeck

Donald Van Hoeck, 74, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022. He was born in Detroit Michigan in 1948 and moved to the Central Florida Area in 1977.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Francis Van Hoeck and Doreen Violet Brown. He is survived by his brothers Ed Van Hoeck (Joann) and Scott Van Hoeck (Debbie), loving wife Lori Van Hoeck, son Andrew Van Hoeck (Christine), granddaughter Eloise Van Hoeck, grandson Jacob Van Hoeck, stepdaughters Amanda Stewart (Kurt) and April Davis (Steven), grandsons Christian Miller, Noah Stewart, Ashton Miller, Luke Stewart, Lane Rakow, Kobe Koehler, nieces Tracie Holden (Derek), Jodi Van Hoeck and Brittany Van Hoeck, nephews Bryan Van Hoeck and Trevor Van Hoeck, great-nephews and many step nieces and nephews.

Starting with a bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University, Dons career path took him through a variety of fields, from banking to software development, much of it with Kirchman Corp. His gift of gab made him a superior salesman, however, he was always at the top of whatever he chose to do. He was well-traveled and spoke the languages of countries he visited most often.

Don was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He was the best “Grandpa” ever, sharing and instilling his love of music, travel, trains, adventure, roller coasters, skiing, tennis, golf and life. He was a master vacation planner and made sure everyone got the most out of each one.

Don was truly one of a kind; fun loving, generous, caring, energetic, outgoing and sociable. With his great love for music, which included singing, playing guitar, piano and dancing he enjoyed going to see local bands. He spoke his mind and stood up for what he believed in. As an avid problem solver and lifelong learner, there was nothing he could not fix, figure out or learn.
